Manila Philippines– July 2014, Warner Brothers Philippines have made Fangirls and Fanboys go frenzy by announcing the visit of three of the main cast and the director of the Japanese movie adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin in the country.
On their official facebook page, Warner Bro’s PH announced Rurouni Kenshin director Otomo Keishi and actors Satoh Takeru (Himura Kenshin), Takei Emi (Kaoru), and Aoki Munetaka (Sanosuke) are coming to Manila as part of their Asian tour for the premiere of “Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno.
Rurouni Kenshin or Samurai X as it is popularly known in the country is a Japanese anime series that hit the 90’s and certainly became the favorite of the many. I have friends who grew up watching the series even after its first TV series in the Philippines. I saw how Filipino fans loved the series so much and how excited they were that a movie adaptation has been released.
The first adaptation was shown in the country in December 2012 and received enormous praises both from fans and movie goers. It was initially announced to be shown only for a couple of days but it was extended due to a huge demand until the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) kicked off.
“Kyoto Inferno” is scheduled to be released in the country on August 20, 2014. While “The Legend Ends” is scheduled to be released on September 24, 2014. The stars will be at the invitational red carpet premier to be held at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong on August 6, 2014. A press conference is also to follow on August 7, 2014 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City.
Now, why am I in Cebu? And why I have to work on these dates? But why I don’t have the budget to buy a plane ticket? cries
