1. The word: FUNGIBLE (via m-w.com) – [Word of the Day : August 7, 2018]
/FUN-juh-bul/ is an adjective which means “being of such a nature that one part or quantity may be replaced by another equal part or quantity in the satisfaction of an obligation ; interchangeable or flexible.”
It was derived from the Latin verb fungi which means “to perform” -and not the plural form of fungus. This is a word that often shows in a legal and political contexts.

4. This swimming pool built by a man in the middle of the forest.
[ Wikipedia] Patreon is a membership platform that provides business tools for creators to run a subscription content service, as well as ways for artists to build relationships and provide exclusive experiences to their subscribers, or “patrons.”
I’ve discovered this site through Rainbowholic but I’ve no account there. If you’re an artist or a content creator you can crowdsource your funds via this website. Or if you want to simply support an artist, this will be a good way too.
6. Human Heart Nature Soothing Balm
Plus Tita points because this is so handy especially that the wet season has already started in the country and I’ll never know when I’ll be catching a cold, a headache due to changing temps or simply when nahihilo just because signs of aging it is.
If you’re someone who needs to add an “umf” for your seemingly boring content but is challenged enough to take/have your own photo for your content, this free library of WordPress will save your day. And oh, don’t forget to thank the creator or simply put the photo source to thank the creator of the image.
This is a local musical comedy that centers the story of seven friends joining a song-writing competition. The story is set in the 80’s and features the songs from the legendary singing group: APO Hiking Society.
I haven’t seen the play yet but I plan to. I sure grew up listening to their songs and have favorites on my playlist. It will run until August 26,2018 at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater. Also, why not? My crush, DJ Jobim (ofJam 88.3) is one of the casts. I’ve also just found out he’s actually the son of Mr. Danny Javier (a member of APO). That just gave me an even stronger reason to see the play! hahaha!
9. The Death Project by Susan Briscoe
What would you do if your doctor has confirmed you have a terminal illness? Well, Susan is a living example of someone who’s answering that question. Susan has a stage four cancer called uterine leiomyosarcoma. I’ve discovered her blog thru well… Discover on WordPress too. This blog will not walk you through about her illness but will give you insights about how someone who’s life is (most likely) numbered is living. This blog has made me realize about a life worth living and just enjoy the present even if you’re tiptoeing to the future.
* Update: On August 31st, Susan passed away.
10. BUYBUST (film) starring Anne Curtis and Brandon Vera
This is an action thriller film directed by Erik Matti and was initially released on June 29, 2018 as an entry to NYAFF (New York Asian Film Festival). Released in the Philippines on August 1, 2018, the film has received positive reviews. The film’s story focuses on a team’s drug bust operation which turned out in a bloody fight-for-your-life situation as the team fought their way out of the trap. The film was criticized by the media as a social commentary on the controversial Drug War in the Philippines upon President Duterte’s assume of the seat.
I’m no pro nor anti Duterte. I admire him so much so don’t be fooled of me giving a high praise for this movie because it simply just tells the story of the real events in the country.
